Stainless steel
316L surgical stainless steel is hypoallergenic and ideal for use in ear and body piercings. It boasts unique attributes including corrosion resistance, clean-ability, ease of fabrication, appearance and availability. Grade 316L, comprising 18% chromium, 10% nickel and 2% molybdenum, is used extensively in the posts, cups and hooks of piercing jewellery. The nickel is bonded within an alloy so it won't be absorbed into the bloodstream in quantities capable of causing a reaction.

Bioplast
Bioplast is a biocompatible material which is autoclavable. It can be cut to any length, is self threading (with any steel or titanium ball) and is totally flexible. It has been shown to reduce swelling and accelerate the healing process in new piercings. It is an excellent material to use in new piercings.

PTFE
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a flexible synthetic material which can be cut to any desired length. It can be sterilised up to 260 degrees and does not cause allergic reactions. It is self threading with any ball.
