Sunday, 4th March, is Children’s Day - Te Rā O Te Tamariki.
This special day was created to encourage parents and caregivers to spend quality time with their children.
Many nations have Children's Day but the magic of Te Rā O Te Tamariki is unique to New Zealand.
Every March hundreds of events happen throughout the country, for example there is a Waitakere Toddler’s Day Out, Wellington Zoo Children’s Day, River to Sea Waikato Museum Children’s Day and a South Canterbury Celebration.
This year’s theme is “treasure our children”. Visit www.childrensday.org.nz to find out more.
